Dr. Ramos is a nurse practitioner with a clinical focus on the HIV prevention and treatment needs of Latinos. He is widely regarded as an expert, scholar, and leader in preventing and treating HIV and sexually transmitted infections in adolescents and young adults, particularly among Latinos and other underserved communities.
In 2020, Dr. Ramos and colleagues published “The Invisible US Hispanic/Latino HIV Crisis: Addressing Gaps in the National Response” in the American Journal of Public Health, which increased the visibility of pronounced HIV inequities among Latinos in the United States.
He serves as a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, the HHS Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Prevention and Treatment, and on the boards of the Latino Commission on AIDS and the HIV Medicine Association.

Dr. Isaiah Cochran graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2019. He specifically chose Halifax Health for his residency because of the opportunity it provided to expand his leadership in LGBTQIA+ and African American communities and further the fight for equity, equality, and justice for all in both health care and everyday life.
