Activity Description
Rapid advances in the understanding of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) immunopathophysiology—particularly the role of IgG autoantibodies—have accelerated the development of novel biologic therapies, expanding the therapeutic landscape for this complex condition. As these options continue to emerge, clinicians are navigating an evolving evidence base that informs their mechanisms of action, safety considerations, and role within existing treatment paradigms.
New and Emerging Biologic Treatments in CIDP: Mechanisms, Efficacy, Safety, and Clinical Implementation is the fourth of five sessions in the CIDP Masterclass: Early Diagnosis, Emerging Options, Better Outcomes series. Delivered through the Project ECHO® collaborative learning model, this session examines emerging biologic therapies in the context of established treatments. Through expert-led, case-based discussions, participants will explore diagnostic considerations, evidence-informed treatment selection, and collaborative care strategies designed to support improved long-term outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with CIDP.

Alain Loriaux, PharmD is a licensed pharmacist in Massachusetts and New Hampshire specializing in home infusion. In his 15 years with New England Life Care, he has helped to advance home care for the treatment of persons who inject drugs and helped to establish the Specialty Pharmacy program at New England Life Care, servicing Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dr. Loriaux has been committed to assisting the transition of patients from hospital beds to their homes with the goal of improving clinical outcomes, reducing healthcare costs and maintaining continuity of care.
