Revolutionizing Care: Innovative Approaches to Eosinophilic Esophagitis Treatment and Management

Statement of Need

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory disease of the esophagus resulting from the accumulation of eosinophils in the esophageal lining and tissue damage. Patients face the daily struggles of difficulty swallowing, upper gastrointestinal morbidity, and diminished quality of life, and their discouraging outlook has worsened over time by lagging development of EoE treatment. Innovative new therapeutics have at last emerged with untapped power to reshape long-term outcomes, yet clinicians and multidisciplinary teams remain unfamiliar with how to apply these breakthrough options. Best-in-class education will empower health care professionals to understand these therapies and integrate them effectively into long-term patient care strategies for EoE.

In this CME Outfitters BriefCase, expert faculty will identify how the complex, Th2-driven pathophysiology of EoE impacts diagnosis and treatment and integrate evidence-based treatments into the care of patients with EoE based on clinical trial data. Faculty will model development of long-term care plans for patients with EoE to address the chronic, progressive nature of this disease.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to better:

Identify how the complex, Th2-driven pathophysiology of EoE impacts diagnosis and treatment
Integrate evidence-based treatments into the care of patients with EoE based on clinical trial data
Develop long-term care plans for patients with EoE to address the chronic, progressive nature of this disease
