Statement of Need

GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are a top-tier recommendation for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), especially those with concomitant cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), or obesity. Backed by robust clinical trial data and endorsed across leading guidelines, GLP-1 RAs have reshaped care for high-risk patient populations. Despite evidence, however, real-world clinician adherence to these recommendations remains strikingly low, and persistence rates outside clinical trials continue to lag. Clinicians and multidisciplinary care teams need education to confidently implement guideline-concordant therapy and ensure that every patient receives the full benefits of GLP-1 RAs.

In the fourth activity of this CME Outfitters Snack series, expert faculty will individualize the selection of GLP-1 RA therapies based on patient-specific factors such as CV risk, weight management needs, and preferences for administration.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to better:

  • Individualize the selection of GLP-1 RA therapies based on patient-specific factors such as CV risk, weight management needs, and preferences for administration
