Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an escalating public health challenge, with rising prevalence and profound burdens on patients, caregivers, and healthcare systems. Recent approvals of amyloid-targeting therapies (ATTs) represent a major advancement in disease-modifying treatment for early symptomatic AD. However, translating these therapies from clinical trials into routine practice presents significant challenges. Clinicians and pharmacists must navigate complex processes for patient identification, biomarker confirmation, therapy acquisition, and infusion administration, while ensuring appropriate safety monitoring for treatment-related risks such as amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA). Many institutions lack standardized protocols and coordinated workflows to support safe and efficient implementation. As a result, knowledge and practice gaps persist regarding multidisciplinary care coordination, pharmacy-supported protocols, and real-world operational strategies for ATT delivery. Continuing medical education is needed to equip clinicians with practical guidance and institution- and pharmacy-developed solutions to support safe, efficient, and scalable implementation of amyloid-targeting therapies in clinical practice.
In this installment of a CME Snack series, expert faculty will discuss the application of practical strategies for acquiring and administering ATTs and conducting patient monitoring during therapy.
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to better:
