Introducing Food is Medicine: New CME Snacks to Advance Nutrition Equity

CME Outfitters is excited to launch Food is Medicine, an educational initiative featuring three bite-sized, OnDemand CME Snacks designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, PAs, NPs, and other healthcare clinicians who want to put nutrition equity into practice.

The Latest on National Initiatives (0.5 CME/CE), you’ll explore how inequitable access to healthy food in low-income and non-White communities drives chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, and learn how multidisciplinary teams can integrate community-based “food as medicine” interventions into care. Click here to participate now.

Part 2: Tackling Health Disparities Through Accessible Food Resources (0.75 CME/CE) examines how food insecurity and nutritional inequity disproportionately impact underserved populations, highlighting evidence-based strategies for promoting access through culturally tailored programs and local partnerships. In Part 3: Screening and Intervention to Improve Nutrition Equity in Underserved Communities (0.75 CME/CE), expert faculty provide guidance on using validated screening tools for food insecurity, strengthening resource referrals, and implementing interventions that help clinicians address social drivers of health.
