Advanced Open and Endoscopic Techniques in Complex Skull Base Surgery
The Departments of Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School have collaborated on the development of an exciting course Advanced Open and Endoscopic Techniques in Complex Skull Base Surgery scheduled for March 3-4, 2012 at the Homer Stryker Center in Mahwah, New Jersey. The course will encompass a 360-degree comprehensive overview and cadaveric practical dissection lab in advanced endonasal endoscopic, eyebrow and classical open microsurgical skull base techniques.
Course Chairmen James J. Evans, MD, FACS, Associate Professor and Director of Cranial Base and Pituitary Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and James K. Liu, MD, Assistant Professor and Director of Center for Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey extend an invitation to join them for the two-day interactive cadaver course designed specifically for senior level residents in neurological surgery with a desire to gain advanced knowledge and skills in skull base surgery.
Dr. Evans and Dr. Liu have developed an interactive agenda that will integrate lectures and discussions from the leaders in skull base surgery with an extensive hands-on laboratory practicum to teach and mentor residents in applying the concepts to improve their surgical skills, techniques, and approaches in both open and endoscopic procedures.
Outstanding leaders in skull base surgery will be serving as faculty and mentors for the conference.
